Direct Delivery

Our Direct Delivery program delivers directly to our partner agencies in certain high-need, high distribution areas. We also deliver to centrally located sites ensuring easy access for our agencies, offering produce and non-perishable food. Since the Food Bank is in close proximity to the majority of our member agencies, deliveries are occurring quickly and frequently. For many of our large member agencies, serving hundreds of people daily or weekly, the direct delivery service keeps their food pantry shelves stocked and their staff and volunteers focused on helping their clients.

The Food Bank’s fleet of twelve vehicles not only ensures efficient distribution but enables the Food Bank to acquire product donations from throughout the New England area. The increased capacities in our facility’s warehouse, cooler and freezer will continue to allow us to pick up more product than ever before. Our Food Bank has been working closely with other food banks throughout New England to maximize the amount of product acquired from donors in our region, and to share that acquired product with each other to provide the most well-balanced mix of foods for our constituents.

The Food Bank currently operates twelve Kids Cafe after school feeding programs in conjunction with clubs and recreation centers in high-need areas of the state. Our transportation team delivers meals to all six of the Providence sites, Tuesday through Friday evenings. These sites include Boys & Girls Clubs at Fox Point, Wanskuck, South Side, Olneyville and North Providence, as well as the Sackett Street Recreation Center.
