"We go to food pantries.  They're the only way my kids can eat."

Community Meeting Space

Since moving to our current facility in November of 2003, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank has been making meeting space available to our community partners.

The Food Bank features available meeting space in our Community Room and Board Room. The Community Room is our most versatile space and is equipped with a ceiling-mounted projector, motorized screen, computer hook-ups, VCR, DVD, Audio capabilities and can be set-up in a variety of ways to accommodate groups of up to 40-45 people. Set-up options include:

  • Discussion Format: A cluster of tables to create a large, open square for face-to-face discussion and individual workspace – Accommodates up to 30 people.
  • Auditorium Style: Two sections of theater-style seating with a center aisle and a presenter table and podium at the front of the room. This format allows for the room’s greatest meeting capacity – 40-45 people.
  • Classroom Format: Two rows of 4 tables with a center aisle and 2 or 3 seats at each table.
  • Round Tables: We can place six or seven, 5-foot, round tables in our Community Room for breakfast or lunch meetings. Each table can comfortably fit between six and eight adults.

In exchange for utilizing any of our meeting space, all the Food Bank requires is for the group to take a tour of our facility to learn more about who we are and what we do. Meeting space is available Monday through Friday between the business hours of 8am and 5pm.

The Community Room is available on a first come, first serve basis and must be reserved in advance. Guests may bring food and beverages for their meetings. Catering options in the area include:

Basil's Pizza: 946-4470
Mr. Peabody's: 941-2258
Bilken's Cafe: 275-6641

We are pleased to have had the opportunity to host over 100 corporate, community, civic and non-profit groups in our Community Room and hope that you will think of utilizing the Food Bank for your group’s next meeting. For more information or to inquire about reserving the Community Room, please contact Michael Cerio at (401) 942-6325 ext. 213 or via email.
