Community Service

Community service volunteers are an integral part of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s volunteer network and are important contributors to the organization’s operations program. Community service volunteers and staff work closely together to implement the mission and programs of the Food Bank. While it is not mandatory to accept community service volunteers, the Food Bank recognizes the work contributed by community service volunteers and considers these many hours as a valuable resource to the organization, its staff, and its member agencies. The Food Bank aims to assign community service volunteers meaningful tasks, effective supervision and recognition for work done. Community service volunteers must sign a contract and are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Food Bank. Failure to do so will result in dismissal.

Community service for high school students is typically scheduled Monday through Thursday, 3pm to 5pm.  Please contact the Food Bank's Volunteer Manager, Kelly Nichols by email or by phone at (401) 942-6325 ext. 256 to schedule your community service.
