Mr. Potato Head Plates

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Mr. Potato Head, a favorite toy designed by Hasbro in Rhode Island, the state is issuing Mr. Potato Head license plates.

Continuing their strong commitment in the fight against hunger, Hasbro, Inc., manufacturer of Mr. Potato Head, has generously offered to donate all proceeds from the sale of these plates to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

License plates cost $41.50 in addition to your regular registration fee. Twenty dollars from each plate sold will be given directly to the Food Bank while the other $21.50 will cover administration costs. Only current Rhode Island registrations with a combination of five letters and/or numbers or less are eligible for the Mr. Potato Head license plate. If you have a new six digit plate, you can contact the Governor's office at 401-222-2080 to request the traditional plate of two letters followed by three numbers.  There is an additional $20 fee per each request.

To obtain a plate, please fill out the information and mail or fax it to the Food Bank with a copy of your current registration. Once your information is forwarded to the DMV, they will send you a postcard notifying you when your plates will be ready for pick-up. Please note that we can only process existing plate numbers – no new registrations.
